1. When you are writing an expository essay, what are the basic steps?
The most important steps for writing an expository essay are the next: select the topic, investigate about the topic, think and write a topic sentence because focused on this you’ll develop your essay, it is important think of methodology, what is about the essay and the purpose, organize the ideas with an outline if you can. Also, it is important think about specific examples for illustrating the major points about the topic, because you need construct an eloquent and informative body with support material or evidence in the body paragraphs of your expository essay. So, recollect evidence, find appropriate sources, evaluate and determine their importance and credibility. Finally, write a conclusion, summarize the main ideas, restate and rephrase the thesis, so don’t use the same words or sentences that you use in the body paragraphs. Read and make edits if this is necessary.
2. What do you have to avoid when you are writing the conclusion in your expository essay?
It is essential keep in mind that the conclusion helps to reinforce the thesis and the main supporting ideas. It is an open synthesis that delivers an impact upon your reader. So, it must be effective and logical, for this reason is important do not introduce new material in the conclusion, and make emphasis in the central idea without being repetitive. Therefore, when you write an expository essay you need rephrase and summarize the information found in the body paragraphs, synthetize all the points and wraps up the essay.
